As an illustrator. Xiaowei graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with an MA in Illustration and holds a BA in Art and Design from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. Prior to her MA studies, Xiaowei gained experience in various creative fields such as illustration, graphics, window displays, and product design.
Xiaowei's visual practice is often influenced by literature and nature, with a primary focus on conveying stories through metaphor and lyricism. The birth of her daughter has brought an added dimension of wonder to creative process and fuels her imagination. She employs mixed media techniques to enhance the richness of images, aiming to establish an immediate emotional connection with viewers. Her expertise lies in narrative illustration, encompassing picture books, concept books, and editorial publications.
